On a silver base metal device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height, a disc divided per saltire blue, white, red, white clockwise, with eight mullets in the blue quarter horizontally placed one, five, and two, and three pales couped in the red quarter base metal, the sinister white quarter has an annulet and in dexter quarter a pale couped black the disc is encircled by a black ring, a yellow lightning flash and a sword with a brown handle overall in saltire. Attached in base a black scroll inscribed with the motto "PRAESTANTIA INDICII" in silver letters.
The black circle signifies around the clock vigilance. The red, white, and blue background represents the national colors and the national mission. The IO in the white quarters refers to binary code and to Information Operations. The one-five-two arrangement of the stars signifies the numerical designation of the Group and the three straight lines represent a Group. The crossed lightning flash and sword indicates speed and protection. The motto translates to "Superiority of Information."
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 22 September 2010.
